ABSTRACT

The problem of changes in educators' various health aspects in the context of transition to distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, caused by changes in professional activities, is not sufficiently studied. This study aimed to identify and analyze physiological, psychological, and professional changes in scientific and pedagogical staff of Ukrainian higher education institutions, associated with the transition to distance learning under quarantine, which affected social, psychological, physical, and mental aspects of their health. A total of 254 educators of Ukrainian higher education institutions were surveyed and their responses analysed. The study revealed certain physiological, psychological, and psychosomatic indicators showing that online work leads to health deterioration. The survey showed that educators consider online learning to be ineffective, opting for a mixed form of education under quarantine. It was found that scientific and pedagogical staff is divided into two clusters according to their state of health as a result of new conditions of professional activity due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Two-thirds of educators coped with the challenges quite well, while the remaining third felt severe aftereffects on their physiological and psychological health. The distinct features that differentiate these two clusters were identified and discussed. Most of scientific and pedagogical staff of Ukrainian higher education institutions pointed out that the lockdown and quarantine measures and the consequent transition to distance teaching had a significant impact on their social, psychological, physical, and mental health. Though the majority of educators confirmed their adaptation to the new working conditions, there was a cluster of teachers for whom the process of adjustment was quite psychologically traumatic.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the educational process organization with the help of digital educational technologies in the process of training future teachers of higher education under the conditions of quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic. Professional training of future higher school teachers in quarantine conditions during COVID-19 pandemic was carried out using digital educational technologies (Moodle virtual educational platform, ZOOM web-conference, Padlet virtual interactive board, Blogger application of Google platform, H5P, Mind Meister online programs, MindNode, etc., Google Meet). A survey of masters of educational, pedagogical sciences specialty 011 "Educational, Pedagogical Sciences" (Pedagogy of Higher Education) was conducted, who studied under such conditions at the Department of Educational and Information Technologies of the National University of Pharmacy during 2019-2021. The results of the survey of higher education seekers showed a positive attitude towards professional training in such learning environment with the help of digital educational technologies. The conducted study allowed to determine that the use of modern digital educational technologies for training future teachers in quarantine conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic on the example of the National University of Pharmacy contributed to the development and formation of general and professional competencies inherent in the educational program "Pedagogy of Higher Education (ability to use knowledge in practical situations, ability to think ly, analyze and synthesize, ability to learn and be trained up-to-date, ability to adapt and act in a new situation, ability to use information and communication technologies, ability to choose communication strategies, ability to work in a team, ability to assess and provide quality work, ability to use knowledge in solving complex teaching situations, ability to use in professional, ability to use knowledge in professional activities on the choice and application of forms and methods, pedagogical technologies of education, etc.).

ABSTRACT

Aim. The paper aims to assess the prospects for the use of encapsulation technologies for improving bioavailability and bioactivity of plant antioxidants;to assess the prospects for the use of the materials obtained in the regulation of redox homeostasis in athletes and the reduction of SARS-CoV-2 complications. Materials and methods. Taxifolin and rutin in their original and encapsulated forms were used as plant antioxidants. Encapsulation was performed by gelatin pectin complex coacervation and conjugation to beta-cyclodextrin. The effectiveness of encapsulation technologies was assessed with the data of antioxidant activity (DPPH method, %) and bioavailability and bioactivity indices (in vitro digestion model). Results. It was found that encapsulated complexes of taxifolin and rutin were characterized by higher values of bioavailability and bioactivity. According to these findings it is possible to assume that encapsulated complexes have higher effectiveness in terms of antioxidant delivery. Conclusion. The results obtained confirm high effectiveness of the abovementioned polyphenol complexes in the regulation of redox homeostasis in athletes and the reduction of risk of oxidative stress and SARS-CoV-2 complications.
